PUBG: Blindspot Shut Down After Just Two Months in Early Access Despite Krafton’s Record Revenues

Free-to-play tactical shooter PUBG: Blindspot is being discontinued by developer Arc Team and publisher Krafton after a brief stint in early access. The game launched on February 5th and will officially cease service on March 30th.

The sudden shutdown marks a significant setback for Arc Team’s competitive shooter, which failed to gain sufficient traction during its testing phase. Despite Krafton reporting record-breaking revenues across its Battlegrounds franchise, the company has decided to pull the plug on this particular title.

PUBG: Blindspot was positioned as a fresh take on tactical team-based gameplay, but the early access period proved insufficient to establish a sustainable player base. The decision reflects the increasingly challenging landscape for new multiplayer titles, even when backed by a publisher with Krafton’s resources and track record.

While the closure is disappointing for players who invested time in the project, it underscores the reality that strong publisher finances do not guarantee individual game success. The competitive shooter market remains crowded, with established franchises maintaining dominant positions.
